Oxford's Jordan Jenkins is the winner of the 2022 National Development League Riders Championship, which was held this afternoon at Scunthorpe. Armadale representatives Lee Complin and Tom Woolley both did creditably well with 11 and 7 respectively, Lee finishing fourth behind Jenkins, Max Clegg and Jason Edwards.
The meeting ran smoothly until the very last race in which Jenkins needed a win for the title, but there was a delay due to an airbag deflation. He held his nerve to deservedly win. Jenkins has also been scoring well for Redcar of course.
Complin was well in the mix with 8 points from his first three rides, dropping a point to Jenkins but defeating Edwards. He was then third in a very hot heat 13, which he led momentarily, before finishing with a second place behind Max Clegg.
Devils' captain Tom Picked up points steadily and finished with a notable win in heat 17, ahead of Leicester Lions' regular Joe Thompson.
These showings from their men will give hope to the Devils for this Friday's visit of Belle Vue, especially since the two Colts' riders in the meeting this afternoon did not do especially well.
