With tapes up now just 6 weeks away, preparations for the 2022 Armadale Devils season are well under way and with that in mind we are delighted to announce that Gregor Millar will return to the fold for the year ahead.
This will probably come as no surprise to most with Millar being exactly the kind of rider the Devils were brought back to develop. Young, local and looking to make a name for himself in the sport. 2022 could be a big year for the younger of the Falkirk-based brothers as the future of Scottish speedway is developed on the Armadale shale.
Last year was definitely a learning curve for the 18 year-old albeit one he enjoyed as he looks to kick on this year, "I'm looking forward to getting started again, I've not been out on the bike in so long so hopefully I'll get some practice in before we start.
"I learnt loads in my first year and I feel I'm ready to learn more with the upcoming season. I'm looking to improve on other tracks this year and so I know different set ups."
The Devils have a familiar look about them this year with 5 of the 6 announced so far being returnees from the squad that finished fifth last year. Millar thinks this should be a positive as the team can hit the ground running, "I'm happy to have five of the same guys as last year because we all help each other round the pits and have a good team spirit.
"Now I have more of an input of what that level of racing is like I know more of what to expect. I'm ready to try score some points and and hope the team can as well.'
Improvement was clear for all to see as the season progressed last year and with that year under his belt and a reserve berth to start the season Millar is forthright and succinct when asked about his goals 'My target for this year is just keep improving and get as much practice as possible'
There is no doubting among the Armadale faithful that the as long as Millar gets the desired track time then that improvement will come in kind.
