Stellar Devils Confirm 2021 NDL Place

Armadale Stellar Devils have confirmed they will compete in the 2021 National Development League.

At today's National Development League Annual General Meeting, Stellar Devils promoter John Campbell happily confirmed that the team will take to track in 2021. Campbell said, "Since we announced the return of the Devils last year there has been great excitement. While it was a shame that no league speedway was possible in 2020, the feeling of excitement surrounding the Devils is still present and growing and I can confirm that we will take our place in 2021."

The National Development League will have a slightly different look in 2021 with a new selection of teams competing. The full list of teams is: Armadale, Berwick, Eastbourne, Kent, Leicester, Mildenhall and Newcastle. Belle Vue may also enter the fold, subject to confirmation.

With the addition of Berwick and Newcastle alongside Armadale, the league will have a distinctly more northern look than it has in recent times.

Campbell believes this is a positive outcome, "It will be a boost to speedway in the north, and to the development of young riders, that there will be more opportunities for development level racing. Berwick and Newcastle will give us two more local teams to race against, they could even be considered derby matches within the geography of the league and we are looking forward to them very much."

Teams will work to a 35.00 point team building limit and will be able to sign only one rider who has previously achieved a Championship average of 4.00 or more.

Campbell concluded, "We are working on constructing our team and I am delighted with our plans. We will aim to retain the bulk of the team that was announced for 2020 but with a slight reshuffle due to the addition of teams in the north. The line up will be announced in the coming weeks."

Fixtures are currently being drawn up and will be announced once confirmed.
