Devils Hit Road Looking To Break Duck

PREVIEW Saturday 16th July 2022, 4:36pm

by Graham Muncie

The busiest weekend of the year for the Armadale Devils continues as they take on the Leicester Lion Cubs at Beaumont Park on Saturday evening.

The Devils coming off the back off another disappointing loss at home to Kent on Friday night still sit mired at the bottom of the National League but with new additions Lee Complin and Elliott Kelly now with debuts out the way the Armadale men can now concentrate on breaking that duck albeit it will not be easy against a strong looking Cubs outfit.

The home men have a strong top 3 albeit number 1 Dan Thompson misses out on this one, Alfie Bowtell a more than capable replacement as shown by his 14-point haul at Armadale on Friday night.

Joe Thompson and ex-Monarch Connor Coles make up the triumvirate with the latter enjoying his best spell in a while.

Back-up to the top men comes from Mickie Simpson and Tom Spencer while Vinnie Foord and Max Perry provide a strong punch at the bottom end.

The Lion Cubs are unbeaten at home with only Mildenhall even cracking the 40-point barrier so far, so another tough night looks in store for the Devils.

The Devils can travel with some hope though with the aforementioned Complin and Kelly adding a bit of stability, Danny Phillips and Tom Woolley will look to keep up with home top 3 while Gregor Millar will hope to build on that 10-point haul against Kent.

The match is part of a double header with the Championship encounter between the Lions and Monarchs first up so tapes-up are expected around 20.15 live updates available on the Devils website.
